About

Elizabeth Williams Ørberg is an experienced Anthropologist and certified Emotional Intelligence coach who offers Cross-Cultural Emotional Intelligence coaching, academic editing and writing support, qualitative research and data analysis.

She is a trained and certified Emotional Intelligence coach through the ICF-certified Beyond EI coaching program and offers individual, group and team coaching sessions to invoke awareness, change mindsets, get unstuck, and find joy in life and work. She also gives public talks and holds workshops on improving one’s embodied emotional intelligence.

She integrates the skills she has gained as an anthropologist and implements these in her cross-cultural coaching practice. Methods such as active listening, close observation, reflection and analysis, open and expanding questioning, and recognizing the wider social and cultural context that may impact a person and their well-being are all aspects of her coaching practice.

She has a PhD in anthropology and integrates and offers qualitative research and data analysis for projects that work to improve social sustainability, including the well-being and mental health of individuals in social contexts such as workplaces, schools and communities. With fifteen years of ethnographic research, writing and publishing experience, she is adept in qualitative research methods such as participant observation, structured and semi-structured interviews, and data analysis. She has a long publication record related to her research on Buddhism, youth, globalization, social change, tourism, sustainability, and business.

She offers writing support throughout all phases of the writing process- from the generation of idea and feedback on early drafts, to more through editing support through helping to improve style, structure, argumentation, and flow. She has over fifteen years of experience as an editor and copyeditor, and draws upon her own experience with writing and publishing to help others with their writing projects.

Originally from Michigan, she now resides in Denmark where she has lived off and on for the past twenty-two years. She has also lived, studied, and worked in India and Nepal, and returned to Michigan periodically during the past twenty-five years. Most recently, she has lived in Delhi as a trailing spouse together with her husband and two children. She knows firsthand what it is like to raise third culture kids, along with the immense rewards and challenges that an international life can bring.
